Obituary: Joy Waydean Haskins

Joy Waydean Haskins, 75, of Palm Desert, Calif., formerly of Lewisburg, died Friday, Feb. 12, 2010, in Desert Regional Medical Center, Palm Springs. She was a beloved mother and grandmother.

Ms. Haskins was a native of Lewisburg. She was retired from the health care industry and was a member of the United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Redmand and Georgia Davis Haskins; three brothers, Wayne, Donald, and James Haskins; sister, Melba Haskins Wright; and son, LeWayne Cowden.

She is survived by her son, Donald R. Cowden of Palm Desert; brother, Ernest Haskins of Franklin; and one granddaughter, Leslie Cowden of Murfreesboro.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, from the chapel of London Funeral Home, followed by burial in Lone Oak Cemetery.

The family will be at London Funeral Home from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, and Saturday until the funeral hour for visitation.
