Mary Lilliette Johnson Smith, 57, of Arlington, Tenn., died Friday, Feb. 19, 2010, at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis.
Mrs. Smith was a native of Marshall County. She graduated from Marshall County High School in 1970; earned her B.S. from Tennessee State University in 1975; and received her Master's Degree from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville in 1976. Mrs. Smith was an associate professor of psychology at Southwest Tennessee Community College, Memphis.
She was preceded in death by her father, Reverend Willie Payne Johnson, former pastor of Greater First Baptist Church in Lewisburg, and her grandmother, Mary D. Crawley, also of Lewisburg.
She is survived by her husband, Gregory Anthony Smith of Arlington; daughter, Daisica Lilliette Smith of Chicago; mother, Daisy Mai Johnson of Lewisburg; brothers, Larry Gene (Alma) Johnson of Lewisburg and Pastor William H.(Deborah) Johnson of Smyrna; sisters, Sandra (Barry) Mayes of Lewisburg and Wanda Kay Lightford of Nashville; and a host of nephews, nieces, and friends.
Visitation with the family starts at noon Wednesday, Feb. 24, at Greater First Baptist Church, Lewisburg.
The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor William H. Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Beechwood Cemetery, Cornersville.
