Obituary: Ethel Cortner Prosser

Ethel Cortner Prosser, 93, of Shelbyville, died Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010, in Glen Oaks Convalescent Center.

Mrs. Prosser was a native of Bedford County. She was retired from Henry Horton State Park Restaurant and was a member of Southside Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Emma Anderson Cortner;

husband, William "Pet" Prosser; three brothers, James, Tom and Bill Cortner; half-sister, Ruth Norman; half-brother, Pete Pendley; and son, Danny Prosser.

She is survived by her son, Larry Prosser of Shelbyville; brother, Dayton Cortner of Marion, Va.; granddaughter, Donna Freeman of the Wheel Community; and two great-grandchildren, Alex and Kara Beth.

Graveside services will be conducted at noon Thursday, March 4, in Head Springs Cemetery.

The family will be at London Funeral Home Thursday from 9 until 11:30 a.m. for visitation.
