Spring is just around the corner and I'm sure glad. Hope all of you had a good weekend. Sunday was Catalpa's day to have the worship service at Merihil at 2 p.m. Several patients attended and seemed to enjoy the service. Larry Smith made the talk on "Courage" and Gary Douglas led the singing. Those attending from Catalpa were Larry Smith, Gary and June Douglas, Alice Pack, Bro. Carpenter and Alice, Jeff, Charlie, Logan, Meriel and Juanita Pack. Joanne Smith was missed as she stayed at the hospital with her sister-in-law, Ivie Lou Smith, who is in serious condition. Mrs. Flossie Bean, mother of Joe Bean, is in Donaldson for evaluation to get her medication straightened out. Tammy Keller is having problems and is being missed. Judy Dirting will undergo gallbladder surgery in the near future. Janice Harris and Doylene Hastings visited their aunt, Verna Sawyers, Sunday afternoon in the skilled care center. Hope all the sick will soon get better.
Remember Pickin'n'Grinnin' is coming up on March 13, starting at 5 p.m. and going until 9 p.m. Come on down and bring a dish and enjoy some good toe-tapping music.
The benefit for Zac Amos is that same night at Howell Community Center. Do what you can to help this family.
Keep March 21 on your calendar: it will be "Friends and Family Day" at Catalpa. After morning services we will be having a meal in the fellowship room, featuring some of Tony Williams' good BBQ. The women folks are to prepare the salads and desserts. You all come and join us that day. We will be glad to see you.
I will close with a poem by my favorite writer, Helen Steiner Rice. Hope to see you next week.
Take heart and meet each minute
With faith in God's great love,
Aware that every day of life
Is controlled by God above.
And never dread tomorrow
Or what the future brings,
Just pray for strength and courage
And trust God in all things.
