Applicants must be graduates of a Marshall County high school and must be planning to teach after college. The Marshall County Retired Teachers Association is offering a scholarship for college students who plan to pursue a career in teaching. Applicants must be graduates of one of the three Marshall County high schools, have junior or senior status in college by fall 2010, and be majoring in education. Applications are available in the guidance offices of the high schools. Deadline for application is May 7, 2010.
Marshall County Memorial Library is happy to announce that the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) is available for the public to use from home computers effective Monday, March 1. You'll now be able to look at our catalog to see what we have available. The operation of OPAC is self-explanatory, but if you would like written instructions, stop in the library and ask the circulation staff for a copy. You must have a library card in order to put an item on reserve or renew one -- you cannot check anything out. To get a card, you must be a resident of Marshall County with two pieces of identification (such as a driver's license, voter's registration, car registration). The Marshall County School System has received information from the Tennessee Department of Health regarding the new immunization requirements for children entering school for the first time (pre-school and kindergarten) and for students who will be entering 7th grade this fall (2010). Please contact the Health Department (359-1551) or your medical provider to make sure your child has these immunizations prior to the start of the 2010-2011 school year.
