Guess what? Spring is here. Some days it looks and feels like spring, and then other days you'd think we're in the middle of winter.

Yes, I'm more behind than ever - what can I say?

I want to congratulate a Lady Rocket, Beth Hawn, on winning the 2009-2010 Class A Miss Basketball award. She received this honor at the conclusion of the Class A State Title game two weeks ago. This is the state's most prestigious individual award.

Beth is a senior at Forrest and has signed with U.T. Martin for a basketball scholarship. She will begin classes there in the fall. Way to go, Beth! All of Chapel Hill wishes you the best as you begin "life after Forrest." Now let's see what's happening in spring Rocket sports.

The Rocket baseball team will host their game with Huntland Monday, March 29, at 5:30 p.m. The JV Teams will compete following the game; Tuesday, March 30, the Rockets will travel to Huntland where the JV teams will play at 3:30 p.m., and the high school teams' game begins at 5:30 p.m. and the Lookout Valley Tournament will see the Rockets Thursday, April 1, through Saturday, April 3.

Monday, March 29, the Lady Rockets softball team will travel to Moore County for a 4:30 p.m. game; Tuesday, March 30, they will host their game with Middle Tennessee Christian at 5 p.m. and Thursday, April 1, through Saturday, April 3, they will also host the Riverdale Tournament.

The middle school Rockets will host their game with Moore County Tuesday, March 30. The game starts at 6 p.m.; they will remain at home Thursday, April 1, for a game with Cornersville starting at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, April 3, will take them to Moore County for an 11 a.m. game.

Tuesday, March 30, takes the middle school Lady Rockets to Whitthorne for a 4:30 p.m. game and Wednesday, March 31, they will be in Unionville for a 4 p.m. game.

The Rockets soccer team will host the game with Page High School Tuesday, March 30; the JV game is at 4:30 and the high school game begins at 6:30. Thursday, April 1, they will be in Murfreesboro for a game with MTCS at 6:30 p.m. and the JV game begins at 7:30 p.m.
