Eldon Dugger Brown, 90, of Cornersville, died Tuesday, April 27, 2010, in Maury Regional Hospital.
Mr. Brown was born and raised in Giles County. He served his country in the U.S. Army Air Force as a Staff Sgt. in military campaigns in New Guinea, Bismarck-Archipelago, Northern Solomon (Central Pacific), and Luzon, Southern Philippines from 1942 until 1945. He retired as Maintenance Supervisor with the Marshall County Board of Education, was an avid woodworker, and a jack-of-all-trades. He was a member of the Cornersville VFW and attended the Cornersville Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Eason and Rena Dugger Brown.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mildred Collins Brown of Cornersville; son, Edwin (Angela) Brown of Cornersville; two daughters, Ann (Jim) Burkhalter and Karen (Richard) Messick, all of Murfreesboro; six grandchildren, Audrey (Mike) Woodward of Smyrna, Timothy Brown of New York, Holly (Lonny) Drayton of Smyrna, Lindy (Tyrus) King of Smyrna, Jamie (Gina) Heintz of Unionville and Jarod (Lisa) Heintz of St. Petersburg, Fla., and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, April 29, from the chapel of Cornersville Funeral Home with burial to follow in Beechwood Cemetery.
