Barbara Louise "Bobbie" Taylor, 80, of Chapel Hill, died Monday, April 26, 2010, in Nashville.
Mrs. Taylor was born in the Holts Corner Community of Marshall County. She was a graduate of Forrest High School, Class of 1947. Bobbie and her late husband were married Jan. 1, 1948, and started a registered Holstein dairy farm, which eventually became recognized as one of the state's best. She was a member of Cedar Grove United Methodist Church in Bedford County.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Adelle Barnes Trout; husband, John Thomas Taylor; a sister, Pauline Hamilton; and a brother, J. B. Trout.
She is survived by four daughters, Dianne Taylor Gregg of State College, Pa., Carol Taylor Thompson of Cary, N.C., Connie Taylor of Austin, Texas, and Susan Taylor of Nashville; two sisters, Beth (Jerry) Meadows of Jackson, Miss. and Lillian (David) Smith of Memphis; five brothers, David (Elizabeth) Trout, Jerry Trout, and Ronnie (Annette) Trout, all of Holts Corner, Glenn (Marie) Trout of Chapel Hill, and Bill (Nina) Trout of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Anthony (Lindsey) Chrestman and Jessica Chrestman; great-grandchildren, John, Michael, Amanda and Rachel Chrestman; and sister-in-law, Gladys Trout.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, April 29, from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Melvin Collins officiating, followed by burial in Swanson Cemetery, Chapel Hill.
