Lewisburg Middle School has opened its greenhouse with plants for sale. Tomato plants, pepper plants, herbs, annuals, perennials, and flower baskets are all for sale. The prices are great and the plants are healthy. The hours of the sale are Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. The greenhouse will be open until plants sell out. Marshall County Budget Committee will be meeting at 5:30 p.m. in Room 2209 of the Courthouse Annex, Lewisburg, on May 6, 11, and 13 to start the budget process for Fiscal Year 2010-11.

The Women's Guild of St. John's Church needs yarn to make hats for the VA Hospital. Please phone Arlene at 293-2591 if you have any yarn we can use.

A local club is being formed for the purpose of promoting beekeeping. Anyone in Marshall, Maury, Bedford and adjoining counties who is interested is welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served. Marshall Medical Center will provide free school sports physicals to high school athletes in Marshall County as a public service. The event will take place from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Thursday, May 6, at Marshall County High School.


A slow-pitch softball tournament for co-ed teams will be held Saturday, May 8, at the Fayetteville softball complex on Wilson Parkway.
