Bank to help ladies start businesses

Wednesday, May 12, 2010

To help women meet their goals and succeed, First Farmers Bank in Marshall County is to host a "Ladies Who Launch" luncheon for women looking to launch their own businesses.

Sheilah Griggs of the "Ladies Who Launch" organization is the speaker. She used the organization and its resources to launch two businesses of her own. The national organization supports women who pursue business or lifestyle goals and objectives.

The May 18 luncheon is from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Russell's Restaurant in Lewisburg. It's free to the first 50 women who call First Farmers' Barbara Capps at 931-359-6222 or register at www.ladieswholaunch.com/Nashville.

"We want to do everything we can to help women succeed," Capps said. "It seemed a natural for us to bring this resource to Marshall County women as part of our continuing commitment to the community."

Ten women at the luncheon will receive a scholarship for a four-week "Ladies who Launch" incubator session led by Griggs.
