Lois Pedley Turner, 85, passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2010, at NHC-Merihil.
Mrs. Turner was a native of Niagara Falls, N.Y. She was a housewife and the widow of the John Buford Turner who died in 1997. During WWII, she was a USO entertainer and worked on military aircraft at Bell Aircraft. In 2007 she was honored as a Rosie the Riveter in Washington, D.C.
Preceding her in death were her parents, John Martin Pedley and Maude Frances Weaver; one son, Ronald B. Turner; and brother, John Martin Pedley Jr.
She is survived by one son, Robert L. (Pam) Turner of Columbia; one daughter, Rhonda L. Turner of Lewisburg; and two grandsons, Robert L. Turner Jr. of Brentwood and John T. Turner of Delray Beach, Fla.; and a dear friend, Gail Reagor of Spring Hill.
Funeral services for Mrs. Turner will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 16, from the chapel of Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home, with burial 2:30 p.m. at Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery in McMinnville. Visitation with the family started Tuesday, June 15, at the funeral home and continues for one hour before the service on Wednesday.
