Webb senior Sarah Steely and sixth-grader Ashlyn Avent, both of Lewisburg, made the A Honor Roll for the fourth quarter of the 2010 spring semester at The Webb School, Bell Buckle.

Lewisburg Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring their annual Independence Day 5K Run & Walk, starting with registration at 6 a.m. Saturday, July 3. Race time is 7 a.m.

They are also sponsoring a Fun Doubles Tennis Tournament on Saturday, July 3. Adult division begins at 9 a.m.; youth division at 12:30 p.m. The tournament benefits MCHS tennis teams.

The Town of Cornersville will have its regular meeting of the Board of Mayor and Aldermen at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 1, at the City Hall. This meeting is open to the public and all citizens are welcome to attend.

The Marshall County Veterans Committee will meet at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, July 1, at 230 College Street, Lewisburg.
