Obituary: Margaret Jean Liggett Cushing

Margaret Jean Liggett Cushing, 68, of Fayetteville, died Saturday, July 17, 2010, at Lincoln Medical Center.

A native of Marshall County, Mrs. Cushing was a daughter of the late Carl Allen and Louise White Liggett. She was of the Baptist faith and was the former owner of Shelbyville Sewing Center.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sara Primm, who died in 2009.

She is survived by two daughters, Denise (Tommy) Primm of Lewisburg and Tina (Donald) Doherty of Athens, Ala.; a son, Ricky Cushing of Fayetteville; four sisters, Clara Mae Davis of Shelbyvile, Jo Ann Bills of Lewisburg, Betty Hobby of Shelbyville, and Mary Defoe of Lewisburg; three brothers, Allen Liggett of Lewisburg, Eddie Liggett of Lewisburg, and Billy Wayne Liggett of Shelbyville; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, July 20, from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home, followed by burial in Wheel Cemetery in Bedford County.

The pallbearers were Cody Primm, Lane Primm, Charlie Hobby, Troy Potts, Bill Woodside, and Trevor Arnold.
