Marshall County residents excelled at the National Special Olympic Games in Lincoln, Neb., last week.
Ginger Skillington won a bronze medal in bowling, according to her father, Rick Skillington, and Sandra Holly, a spokeswoman for the local group, reports that Ricardo Owens finished third in bench-press competition with a lift of 65 kilograms.
Meanwhile, the Tennessee Bocce Team "took the gold in team play," Holly said, noting two local players - Darion Barnhill and Andrew Shearer.
The players returned to Marshall County on Saturday.
