The Lewisburg Police Department will be hosting the second annual "Cops for Kids Fundraiser" at Rock Creek Park Saturday, August 28 from 10:00 am -- 2:00 pm with a live auction beginning at 2:30 pm. A $5 admission includes activities and lunch.

Wednesday, Aug. 4, is the first day of school for Marshall County students. This is an abbreviated day, and school buses will not run. The first full day of school in the Marshall County School System is Friday, Aug. 6; buses will pick up and deliver students on this date.

The Marshall County High School Tigers and Tigerettes will be conducting their third annual Soccer Skills Camp from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6, and 9 to noon Saturday, Aug. 7, at the MCHS soccer field in Lewisburg. This is a fundraiser and a preparatory session for the upcoming AYSO season. Junior Auxiliary of Lewisburg has begun their annual "Stuff That Bus School Supply Drive," accepting monetary and school supply donations to assist Marshall County's underprivileged children with school supplies for the upcoming year. JAL will be at Wal-Mart from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4 and from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5.
