Foy Ellis Walker, 72, of Lewisburg, died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010, at Williamson Medical Center in Franklin.
He was a member of the Church of Christ, who attended Highland Church of Christ in Columbia.
Mr. Walker was born in Marshall County on April 19, 1938. He graduated from Marshall County High School in 1956.
He served in the Tennessee National Guard and the United States Air Force. Upon his return to Marshall County, he worked as a tool and die maker until his retirement in 1999, and he worked a small farm from 1982 until his death. His hobbies were studying the Bible, woodworking, gardening, and writing poetry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Buford and Maycle Hill Walker, and two brothers, Buford Wayne Walker and Edgar Hill Walker.
He is survived by his wife, Sara Rochelle Walker of Lewisburg; daughter, Lois Marie Walker of Murfreesboro; daughter, Jan (Ryan) Walker White of Christiana; grandson, Matthew Kristian White of Christiana; brother, William S. (Margie) Walker of Lewisburg; sister, Louise (C.W.) Walker Osteen of Cornersville; and three nieces and four nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 o'clock in the afternoon on Friday, Aug. 20, at London Funeral Home with Larry Hastings and Tony Lancaster officiating. Immediately following, a military honors ceremony and interment will be held at Berea Cemetery in Verona.
Active pallbearers are Ronald and Jerry Osteen, Philip Walker, Cliff Warren, Joey Kleine, and Steve Jones. Honorary pallbearers are Ryan and Matthew White.
