Helen Gayle Hill Tyrell, 65, of Chapel Hill, died Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, at her home in Chapel Hill.
Mrs. Tyrell was born in Davidson County and was a daughter of the late Charles Frazier "Charlie" and Dorothy Jane Nave Hill. She was a homemaker and was a retired investigator for the United States Federal Government, Department of Labor. Mrs. Tyrell was a member of the Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Morgan "Muggs" Tyrell; sister, Linda Collins; and brother, Charles D. "Butch" Hill.
Mrs. Tyrell is survived by six sisters, Betty (Bill) Blalock of Lewisburg, Ann (Doug) Winningham of Chapel Hill, Dottie (Steve) Eskew of Franklin, Deborah (Harvey) Jones of the Caney Spring Community, Donna (Mike) Zimmerle of Chapel Hill, and Kathy (Joe) Orr of Tullahoma; two brothers, Thomas F. Hill of Culleoka and Joe (Diana) Hill of Chapel Hill; two stepchildren, Ann and Boyd Tyrell of Nashville; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and by her beloved cat, "Tinkerbell."
Graveside services were conducted Tuesday, Aug. 31, at Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill with Rev. Larry Chatman officiating, followed by burial in Swanson Cemetery.
