Marshall County Schools' director is promoting a Cornersville High School teacher to be his new assistant director of the school system.
Assistant Director of Schools Kendell Lee was named to his new position last month by Schools Director Roy D. Dukes. Lee will move from being a teacher to that of administrator once a math/physics teacher is recommended as his successor.
Most recently, Lee has been a math/physics teacher at Cornersville High School where he's worked since earning his BS degree from David Lipscomb University in 1987.
Lee continued his studies and in 1992 received his Master of Education Degree in administration and supervision from Trevecca Nazarene College.
In addition to his Marshall County job, Lee is a major in the Tennessee Army National Guard.
During his 16-year military career, he has received several awards, including the Army Commendation Medal for Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Lee and his wife, Becky, have two children: Katherine, who is a senior at Cornersville High School; and Bobby Wayne, an 8th grader at Cornersville.
