Thefts and vandalism reported

* A Columbia man had his vehicle "keyed" while it was parked at a home on Saddlewood Drive on Aug. 19. Owner estimates the cost to repair the damage at $6,000.

* The granddaughter of a Lewisburg woman forged and cashed four checks, totaling $2,500, on her grandmother's account. The case has been turned over to detectives.

* About 11 p.m. Aug. 20, someone struck a carport on North Street with their vehicle, doing an estimated $1,300-worth of damage. A neighbor told Lewisburg Police Department Officer Seth Feinson they saw a black truck speeding away from the scene.

* A Lewisburg woman told Marshall County Sheriff's Department deputies that someone got hold of her Bank of America debit card number, expiration date and PIN, and used it for 11 online transactions. The total charges were over $1,000. "The bank has been rectifying the situation," wrote Deputy Jerry Harden in his report.

* An air conditioner, TV, lamp, end tables and a window blind, total value: $745, were removed from a rental property on Clay Hill Road between Aug. 25 and 26.

* Three window air conditioners were stolen from a rental property on Bethbirei Road. Owner values the units at a total of $550.

* Between 9:30 p.m. Aug. 21 and 6 a.m. Aug. 22, a 1999 Mercury Sable was scratched all over with a metal object, and a threat was scratched onto the hood, while it was parked at the owner's residence on Change Avenue. Estimated cost of repair: $500.

* The rear driver's side window was broken and the key was broken off in the ignition of a car parked at Marshall Medical Center Emergency Room in the pre-dawn hours of Aug. 23. Estimated cost of repair: $350.

* On Aug. 21, a man stole a Blue Ray DVD player at Wal-Mart and then presented it as a return, receiving a $238.17 gift card, which he later used to buy a cell phone. "This whole event was caught on store video," wrote LPD Officer Larry Hazelwood. According to the drivers license he showed customer service, the perpetrator is Mario M. McAdoo, 33, of Nashville.

* A Lewisburg woman had her Ascend Federal Credit Union debit card taken from her purse, and it was used to withdraw $200 from an ATM. The case was turned over to Lewisburg Police Department detectives.

* A woman who is trying to get Section 8 housing learned that her social security number was being used by Jose T. Godinez for employment in Tulsa, Okla.

Arrested and charged with theft over $500

* Tyler Mark Therriault, 23, Spring Hill. Bond: $18,000; court date: Sept. 21. Additional charge: possession of a Schedule IV drug. Therriault allegedly took a camera, a .38 special revolver, Xanax and D-amphetamine, and other items, total value: $549, from his roommate. Everything but the gun was recovered.

Arrested and charged with arson of personal property

* Carrie R. Dilbeck, 26, Colburn Drive. Bond: $3,000; court date; Sept. 13. It is alleged that Dilbeck burned her boyfriend's clothes and shoes, said to be worth a total of $450, in the driveway while he was away from the residence after they argued.

* Daniel K. Chiles, 46, Nokomis, Fla. Bond: $3,000; court date: Sept. 13. Additional charge: violation of the implied consent law.

* William L. Harmon, 20. Columbia. Bond: $2,500; court date: Sept. 13. Additional charge: underage consumption.

* Robert D. Hargrove, 38, Bob Cheek Road. Bond: $3,000; court date; Sept. 13. Additional charge: speeding. This is Hargrove's 5th DUI.

* Alvin Presley, 70, Freeman Drive. Bond: $1,500; court date: Oct. 18. Also cited for no proof of insurance, driving on a suspended license, and registration violation.
