Arrested on 17th Judicial District Drug Task Force warrants

* Sharon M. Edlin, 54, Hill Street. Bond: $66,000; court date; Oct. 19. Charges: five counts of sale of Xanax, two counts of sale of Lortabs, simple possession of Xanax and Lortabs; possession of Xanax and Lortabs with intent to sell and deliver. According to one of the warrants, Edlin told agents she had been "involved in the illegal distribution of prescription medication for approximately seven months."

* Nathaniel S. Payne, 27, Rambo Hollow Road. Bond: $15,000; court date: Sept. 21. Charges: three counts of conspiracy to distribute marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, and three counts of sale of marijuana.

* Tanya R. Kelly, 30, Nashville Highway. Bond: $6,000; court date: Sept. 28. Charges: sale and possession of Xanax.

* Edwin L. Derrick, 24, Fox Lane. Bond: $3,000; court date: Oct. 26. Charge: recorded device. "On June 30, 2010, during an ongoing investigation, agents of the 17th JDTF seized 100 or more pirated DVDs from Edwin Derrick. Derrick admitted to being involved in the illegal distribution of the pirated DVDs," wrote Agent Tim Miller in his affidavit of complaint.

* Earl D. Cooper Sr., 76, Wiles Lane. Bond: $8,500; court date: Oct. 5. A fully loaded 9mm Ruger pistol was taken from Cooper after Marshall County Sheriff's Department deputies used a Taser to subdue him.

Thefts and vandalism reported

* Between 8:30 p.m. Sept. 8 and 4:40 a.m. Sept. 9, a 2003 Chevy pickup was stolen from a residence on Hwy 99. $260 was taken from the owner's purse at the same time.

* A Kel-Tec .380 pistol (serial # K3154), a Browning A-bolt .338 Ultra-Mag rifle with a Nikon scope, and a Remington 597 .22 rifle with a Leupold scope, total value: $2,950, were taken from a locked storage shed at a residence on Eagleville Pike, Chapel Hill, sometime in the last 45 days.

* Sometime in the last few weeks, $2,881-worth of damage was done to a Chevy Malibu by scratching the doors and hood with a sharp metal object while the car was parked at the owner's residence on Saddlewood Drive.

* On Sept. 7 and 8, two Sony Xplod CD players, worth between $150 and $250 each, were stolen from a 1989 Cadillac parked at Martin Motors and an unlocked car parked at its owner's home on 2nd Avenue North. The CD players were later recovered and Jason Proffitt was arrested and charged with the theft.
