Hello again, hope all of you are feeling alright. We keep on going whether we feel like it or not. The leaves are starting to change some around here and a lot are falling off. Cooler weather will soon be here with all the fall color.

We received a notice to read at church that Wells Hill Church of Christ will be having Ladies' Day on Saturday, Sept. 18, from 9 to 11 a.m. Wells Hill is located in Lincoln County. They will also be having their 20th Annual Fall Singing on Friday, Oct.1.

West Fayetteville will hold marriage seminars on Sept. 24 and 25, and two classes on the 26th. Lynnville Church of Christ will be holding a Gospel Meeting from Sept. 19 to 23. Services will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday night and 7 p.m. through the week. There will be several different speakers. Lone Oak will be having Men's Day on Saturday, Oct 16, beginning at 7:30 a.m. I will give more details closer to time.

We were glad to have Bro. Carpenter and Alice back with us last Sunday. We were also glad to see our two ladies from Georgia, who come each year for the Diana Singing. We look forward to seeing them again in June. We missed June and Gary Douglas, who were visiting their son Ricky and his wife in Georgia, however. We also missed Brenda Haislip, the Murdock family, and Marilyn Head. Hope they will be back with us next Sunday.

Here is an update on some of our sick. Frances Welch is finally back at home. Jesse Head is now at Living Way in Columbia and recovering fairly well from his surgery. We were sorry to hear that Valton Crabtree is suffering with a broken foot. We hope he will be feeling better soon. We heard today (Monday) that Bro. Carpenter is having some problems with his heart and will need to see a cardiac specialist.

Sincere sympathy goes out to the Simpson family in the death of their mother, Mary Virginia Knott Simpson, and the Crawford Crabtree family. Please keep these families in your prayers.

Our birthday and anniversary club members for this week include Travis Foster, 21st; Kim Fuller and Chris Bedwell, 25th; Amanda Smith, 26th; Billy Douglas, 27th. June and Gary Douglas celebrate 49 years on the 27th and Angie and Randy Taylor celebrate 25 years on the 28th. Hope they all have a happy occasion.

Our poem for this week:

A Favorite Recipe

Take a cup of kindness, mix it well with love,

Add a lot of patience and faith from God above,

Sprinkle very generously with joy and thanks and cheer -

And you'll have lots of ANGEL FOOD to feast on all the year.
