Don Osteen, 82, of the Caney Spring Community of Marshall County, died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010, in Columbia.
Mr. Osteen was born in Marshall County and was a son of the late Willie H. "Bill" and Pauline Walker Osteen. He was a graduate of Forrest High School, Class of 1946. He was a member of the Future Farmers of America and was awarded the Future Farmers State Farmers award for his lifetime of farming in Marshall County. Mr. Osteen was a long-time member of Old Lasea Church of Christ in the Pottsville Community.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Ann Hickman Osteen, who died in 2000.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Julia Osteen Jr., and two grandchildren, Rebekah and Scott Osteen, all of Suwanee, Ga.; sister, Betty Jane Osteen Hallum of Murfreesboro; brother, Ralph Osteen of Brentwood; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 12:30 until 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, at Lawrence Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Jimmy Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Allen Cemetery in the Caney Spring Community.
