Col., Richard Joseph "Dick" Williams, 74, of Lewisburg, died Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010. Col. Williams was a native of Mobile, Ala. He was retired from the Marshall County Property Assessors Office, and was a co-founder of McCrory & Williams Engineering & Surveying, LLC where he retired in 2000. He was a retired Colonel with the U.S. Army Reserve, served in the Alabama National Guard for over 35 years, and held many commands before retiring from the Army Reserves. Col. Williams was a past president of the Alabama Society of Professional Land Surveyors, and held many offices.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Beard Williams of Lewisburg; six children; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, with Bob Bush officiating.
