Thefts and vandalism reported

* During the morning of Sept. 17, someone backed a vehicle up to the mini barn of a home on Thick Road, Chapel Hill, broke in, and stole an air compressor, "a welder and arc on tank," a battery charger, a DA, a heater, a leaf blower, an incline sander, a Stihl weedeater, a Firestorm drill-saw-sander, an impact wrench, and a sand blaster; total value: $2,400.

* A Lewisburg man told Lewisburg Police Officer John Christmas that his Heritage South Credit Union account was overdrawn by $1,300. The victim said he left his brother the checks, ATM card, and PIN number for the account while he was out of town.

* $200-worth of thermostat wires were stolen from the air conditioner of a home on Hickory Avenue on Sept. 10.

* Thirty feet of wire fence, valued at $150, was damaged on Delina Road, Cornersville, between Sept. 3 and 8 by someone driving through it. Marks on the road seemed to indicate a vehicle had been pulled out of the field.

* A Lewisburg man defrauded Laws Hill Market of a total of $104.07 for gas, cigarettes and beer, by signing his former employer's name to three charge tickets.

* On Sept. 13 a mailbox on Patrick Drive was knocked off its foundation and left leaning over. The mailbox is valued at $30.

* A counterfeit $5 bill was found at First Commerce Bank in the deposit from the VFW. Bank vice president Pavlova Gregs told LPD Officer Jennifer McDonald that the bill was "very realistic looking."

* A Culleoka woman told Marshall County Chief Deputy Sheriff Billy Lamb that she accidentally discovered her Social Security number was used by a woman in Compton, Calif., from December 2008 to July 2010. Investigation was turned over to the detective division.

* A Lewisburg woman told MCSD Deputy Cecil Thrasher that her Bank of American Visa card number had been used by someone she did not know to open a Web site.

* A student at Cornersville High School had her car scratched, and some liquid poured on the hood, while the vehicle was parked at school on Sept. 13.

* A resident of Bark Street found a hole, that could have been made by a BB gun, in the screen and glass of a window.

* Joshua McBurnett, 32, Ruby Road. Bond: $32,500; court date: Oct. 5. "More charges are likely to follow," Detective Bob Johnson wrote in his report.

* Troy M. Hall, 32, Nashville Highway. Bond: $4,000; court date: Oct. 12.

Arrested and charged with domestic assault

* Spence A. Alderson, 38, Anes Station Road. Bond: $8,500; court date: Sept. 21. Additional charge: aggravated assault. Alderson is alleged to have threatened to shoot his stepson with a rifle.

* Vail Prest, 29, West Commerce Street. Bond: $2,500; court date: Nov. 8. Additional charges: simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

* Janice Alderson, 41, Anes Station Road. Bond: $1,000; court date: Oct. 5.

* Tommy Ulises Goins Tansil, 23, Elm Avenue. Bond: $1,000; court date; Nov. 8.
