Special to The Tribune
Mark your calendar for Saturday, Oct. 2, to attend the Lewisburg Lions Club Octoberfest, held on the square in Lewisburg, beginning at 6 a.m.
This is a fall tradition that began 19 years ago. Bring your largest appetite and we guarantee to satisfy it with an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast. The Lions Club members have been specializing in batter mixing, pancake flipping, sausage cooking, and showing everyone a good time for years, and this year will be no exception.
There will be arts and crafts booths set up around the square. Over 60 booths have spaces reserved to show their arts, crafts and homemade wares. Come and find your neighbors and friends shopping on a sunny fall day.
The Chalk on the Walk contest for children under 17, hosted by the Marshall County Art Guild, will be on the east and south sides of the square from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Entertainment has always been a big part of Octoberfest and this year will be no different. Beginning at 8 a.m. on a stage in front of the Dixie Theater, you will be entertained by Boys Down the Road, followed by the Cornersville First Baptist Church Praise Team at 8:45; Ricky Weaver and Rick Dracup, 9:30; Tracey Lyikley, 10; Alliance, 10:30; Nora Mills, 11; Zumba, 11:45; Marshall County High School Band, noon; and Bottom Dollar Band, 1 p.m.
Come bring your lawn chair and enjoy every style of music from bluegrass to country, Gospel to rock, and everything in between.
The Lewisburg Lions Club looks forward to seeing a big crowd enjoying food, entertainment and shopping on the square on Saturday, Oct. 2. By attending Octoberfest, you will also be supporting an organization that has been active in sight conservation and has supported local charities in Lewisburg and Marshall County since 1937.
