Obituary: James Garlan Hardison

James Garlan Hardison, 88, of Lewisburg, died Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010, in NHC Lewisburg Healthcare.

Mr. Hardison was a native of Maury County, and son of the late Dodson Baxter and Zilphia Elizabeth Tindell Hardison. He was employed as a sales agent with American General for 40 years and he served 16 years as a court officer with the Marshall County Circuit Court. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in Central Europe. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lewisburg.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sara Neil Fowler Hardison; son, James Garlan Hardison Jr.; and sister, Angeline Brown. He is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Elizabeth (Larry) Thigpen of Lawrenceburg and Becky Ann (Mike) Lillard of Douglasville, Ga.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were conducted Sunday, Sept. 26, in Lone Oak Cemetery with military honors.
