Obituary: William Cobia Barron

Mr. William Cobia (Bill) Barron, age 93 of Lewisburg, died Wednesday, September 29, 2010 in Marshall Medical Center.

Mr. Barron was a native of Marshall County and son of the late Ezra and Annie May Corbin Barron. The Barron family has been a part of this area since they settled here in 1820. Mr. Barron graduated from the Bowling Green, Ky., College of Commerce in 1939 as a certified public accountant. He served his country in the military during World War II. He worked for many years with Vultee Aircraft Corporation and Aladdin Industries. He, also, had a CPA practice in Nashville and Lewisburg for several years.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Flones McKellar Barron and Ezra Don Barron, and his wife, Willie Elizabeth Farrior Barron. He is survived by one daughter, Gale Dawn Barron of Lewisburg, son, William C. (Anita) Barron, II of Nashville, three grandsons, Carl Alexander Barron, Eric William Barron, & Seth Porter Barron all of Nashville, two nieces, Ida Barron Tindell of Berlin & Amy Barron of Lewisburg, nephew, Duke Barron of New Bern, North Carolina, and sister-in-law, Carlee Barron of Lewisburg.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of London Funeral Home with burial to follow in Lone Oak Cemetery.

The family will be at London Funeral Home Friday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Saturday from noon until the funeral hour for visitation.
