George Montagne Sabilino Sr., 84, of Chapel Hill, died Monday, Oct. 4, 2010.
Mr. Sabilino was born in Seattle, Wash. and was a son of the late Daniel Bajo and Florence May Montagne Sabilino. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and later was a Merchant Marine. Mr. Sabilino was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, a life member of the American Legion and a charter member of Restaurant and Bartenders Union Local #483, Monterey, Calif. He attended Bethlehem Baptist Church, near Lewisburg.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Marcus Montagne Sabilino and Daniel Montagne Sabilino.
He is survived by his wife, Anna M. Sabilino of Chapel Hill; two sons, George Montagne Sabilino Jr. of Morgan Hill, Calif. and David Mario Sabilino of Seaside, Calif.; three daughters, Gineille M. Sabilino of Lewisburg, Judy Ann Hayes of Portland, Ore., and Maria Durbin of Gresham, Ore.; brother, Rudy Rico of Kailua, Hawaii; sister, Juanita Berndt of Forrest Grove, Ore.; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be conducted at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8, at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Yerkes officiating.
