1 pound ground beef

1/2 cup chopped onion

1/2 cup chopped green pepper

1 14 3/4-ounce can spaghetti in tomato sauce with cheese

1 15-ounce can ranch-style beans

3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Cook ground beef and vegetables until meat is browned. Stir in remaining ingredients and cook over low heat until cheese melts.

3 cups flour, sifted

1 teaspoon baking soda

3/4 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons cinnamon

1 teaspoon ground cloves

1 stick butter

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar

3 eggs, beaten

1 cup dark molasses

1/4 cup hot water

1 cup buttermilk

1/2 cup chopped apples

1 teaspoon lemon juice

Sift together flour, soda, salt, and spices. In a separate bowl, cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, then molasses and water. Gradually add the dry ingredients, alternately with the buttermilk, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Fold in apples and lemon juice. Pour batter into a greased long baking pan and bake in a 350-degree oven for 35-45 minutes or until it tests done. Cut into squares in the pan.

2 #1 cans pork and beans

1 envelope dry onion soup mix

1/3 cup catsup

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 tablespoon prepared mustard

1 pound hot dogs

Combine all ingredients with 1/4 cup water in a 2-quart casserole. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for about 1 hour. Makes 6 to 8 servings.

2 cups sugar

3 eggs

2 cups self-rising flour

1 cup oil

2 teaspoons cinnamon

1 teaspoon nutmeg

1 cup chopped pecans

1 junior-size jar of prune baby food, or 2 regular-size jars

Grease and flour pan. A large loaf pan or a bundt pan may be used. Mix all ingredients together and bake for 55-60 minutes at 325 degrees.

I like to use caramel icing on mine.

1/2 cup water

2 cups sugar

pinch of salt

1 7-ounce jar marshmallow cream

1/4 cup chopped nuts

Combine water, sugar and salt. Bring to a rolling boil and boil for 2 minutes only. Place marshmallow cream in a large bowl and pour hot syrup into cream. Stir until candy loses its gloss. Add nuts. Drop from a spoon onto waxed paper. Note: you may add 1 teaspoon vanilla with the nuts, and you may increase the nuts to 1/2 cup.
