Obituary: Ruth Wortham King

Ruth Wortham King, 87, of Lewisburg, died Friday, Oct. 8, 2010.

A native of Marshall County, Mrs. King was a daughter of the late James Edward and Maggie Katherine Ball Wortham. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. King was preceded in death by her husband, Joe King; a son, Bobby Joe King; three sisters, Betty Jean Spray, Charlene Woodward and Agnes Cheek; and a brother, George "Buddy" Wortham.

Survivors include four sons, Jackie King of Chapel Hill; and Jerry King; Jimmy King, and Rickie King, all of Lewisburg; two brothers, Allen Wortham and Loyd Wortham, both of Lewisburg; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, Oct. 10, from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Lucas officiating. Burial followed at Swanson Cemetery.
