Russell Rogers "Russ" Cochran, 70, of Lewisburg, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010, at Heritage Medical Center in Shelbyville.
Russ was a native of New London, Conn., and son of the late Russell Rogers and Janet Taft Cochran. He served his country in the United States Army as a helicopter mechanic. He served the community of Milford, Conn. as a firefighter with the Milford Fire Department until his retirement.
He married Catherine Margaret Braden on Sept. 29, 1962, in New Haven, Conn. They recently gathered with family to celebrate their 48th anniversary. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Catherine Margaret York of Springfield, Tenn. and Sarah Ann Cochran of Mt. Juliet; two sisters, Sandra Nafis and Nadine Baldetti, both of Florida; a brother, Michael Cochran of Connecticut; and four grandchildren, Sam York, Lauren Cochran, Braden York, and Sydney York.
