Obituary: Blanche Elizabeth Foreman Nix

Blanche Elizabeth Foreman Nix, 94, of Lewisburg, passed away Friday evening Oct. 8, 2010, at NHC Oakwood, Lewisburg.

Mrs. Nix was a native of Stuttgart, Ark., and the daughter of the late Benjamin Fenton Foreman and Mary Elizabeth Hall Foreman. She was married to the late Charlie T. Nix, who died in 1987. In addition to her husband and parents, one son, Charles Lloyd Nix, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Nix was a sales clerk for Nancy's Children Shop for 36 years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women of Lewisburg.

She is survived by one son, David (Judy) Nix Sr. of Mt. Juliet; one daughter, Lynna (Charlie) Cheatham of Lewisburg; and a sister-in-law, Norma Rutherford. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Jill (Danny) Pickle, Heidi Hanks, Davey Nix Jr., and Julie Bills; two stepgrandchildren, Tommy (Susette) Cheatham and Brian (Catina) Cheatham; eight great-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

Graveside memorial services for Mrs. Nix will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15, at Lone Oak Cemetery with Rev. Claude McMillion officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are encouraged to the Marshall County Animal Shelter.
