Early voting in the state and federal elections to be concluded Tuesday night next week ends at 4 p.m. Thursday.
"As of yesterday we had 2,384 people to vote early," according to Sarah Murphy, one of the officials at the Marshall County Election Commission office in the Hardison Office Annex on College Street.
"They're saying it's about the same as when we had the other governor's race," Murphy said.
Tennessee voters are being asked to select a new governor. Meanwhile Marshall County voters are electing a new congressman and choosing between challengers and incumbents serving as state lawmakers.
"It's very smooth," Murphy said of the flow of early voters arriving at the election office and casting their ballots.
