Crime reports

Wednesday, October 27, 2010

On Oct. 19 the Chapel Hill Police Department reported that a possible stolen truck was burned and left in an old rock quarry at 2100 Caney Springs Road. The truck appeared to be a Ford F350 extended cab dually. The VIN and the license plate were melted, so the truck was not immediately identifiable. The owner of the property told police he had not visited the site "in a while" and knew nothing about the truck. The National Insurance Crime Bureau is searching its database.
