Business Park OK'd by TVA for data center

Lewisburg's Business Park on Mooresville Highway has become one of a few sites in South Central Tennessee to be promoted as being suitable to recruit a data center.

The Tennessee Valley Authority and Deloitte Consulting have been looking for places in the Tennessee Valley that are marketable as good locations for data centers, according to Greg Lowe, the city's industrial development director.

Lewisburg was one of the communities to take part in the project and the Business Park here ranked among the second tier of suitable sites, Lowe said. Now, when businessmen look for a prospective data center location in Middle Tennessee, Lewisburg's Business Park will be one of the few to be promoted by TVA as a good location.

"TVA has been and remains one of our most important partners in economic and community development," Lowe said.

Only 15 percent of the sites that took part in the project were deemed "Primary" due to specific criteria, he said. The Lewisburg Business Park ranked among the "Secondary" sites, but will still be a part of the marketing process because it met all but two criteria.

"Obviously, we would like to be considered among the Primary sites but a couple of the criteria we simply did not meet," Lowe said. "However, one of the criteria has been mitigated and the other is minimal and can be mitigated fairly easily should a data center give us a consideration."
