Halloween is over for one more year. I hope no one was spooked too bad by ghosts and goblins. Now we have 3 1/2 weeks untill Thanksgiving, then a month before Christmas and another week until the new year. YIKES.

But wait. Let's do one holiday at a time.

Thanksgiving -- First, we have to think about the events happening "before" Thanksgiving.

The middle school Rockets basketball teams host their games with Westwood Monday, Nov. 8. Tip-off is at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, the games with Community School will also be in Chapel Hill, beginning at 6 p.m.

The annual Turkey Supper and Silent Auction at CHES will take place Friday, Nov. 12 between 4:30 and 7 p.m.

I want to thank the teachers at CHES early for their assistance cooking and serving this delicious Thanksgiving meal.

You may eat at the school or get "take out."

And don't forget to stay for the Silent Auction. There will be lots of items to bid on.

Saturday, Nov. 13, the ladies of the Chapel Hill UMW will host "A Taste of This and That" from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church Family Life Center. They will have more than a few "yummy" dishes for you to sample. Tickets will be available at the door.

Have a wonderful week, GO ROCKETS and don't eat too much turkey.
