Gracie Pauline Cantrell, 85, of Nashville, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, at her residence.
Mrs. Cantrell was a native of Winchester, and daughter of the late Charles Timothy and Rosie Lee Sons Riddle. She was employed in housekeeping at St. Thomas Hospital before her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles C. Sawyers, and second husband, Dick A. Cantrell; three sisters, Rosie Mae Lewis, Ozell Reavis, and Wilsie Stacey; and three brothers, Riley Riddle, Robert Riddle, and Charles Riddle.
She is survived by four daughters, Peggy Maynard of Nashville, Shirley Crunk of Smyrna, and Della Sawyers and Carol Sawyers, both of Nashville; stepdaughter, Darlene Cantrell of LaVergne; son, Clifford Massey Sawyers of Fayetteville; two sisters, Alice Kight of Lawrenceburg and Mattie Jo Holt of White Bluff; 12 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren; and 23 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Nov. 9, from the chapel of Cornersville Funeral Home with burial to follow in Mars Hill Cemetery.
