Junior Auxiliary of Lewisburg is now conducting its annual "Keep Our Kids Warm Coat Drive" and a suitcase drive for foster children. With the cooperation of White Lowe and Eastside Dry Cleaners, volunteers from this organization collect unwanted coats, jackets, and gloves. These items are then cleaned and redistributed to children in need.
The coat drive will run through Dec. 3. You are encouraged to check your closets and drop coats off at either dry cleaner, send them with your children to any county school, or give to a Junior Auxiliary member. All sizes are welcome. Girls and boys coats, sizes 6-12, are especially needed. If your child is in need of a winter coat, contact any school guidance counselor. The coats will be given out at the George Turner Center on Silver Street in Lewisburg on Dec. 11, from 8 until 10 a.m. If you have any questions or want to help with this project, please call Mary Beth Williams (chair) at 993-5774 or Katie Jewel (co-chair) 242-5723 for information.
