I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We all enjoyed a low-fat turkey dinner and sugar-free dessert, right? In your dreams, maybe. But many of us, excluding football fans, got up from the table and jumped right into Christmas. I don't really agree with that, but it is what it is.
Saturday, Dec. 4 is going to an exciting busy day.
The Chapel Hill UMW will host a craft fair at the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church Family Life center from 7:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.
The Chapel Hill Christmas Parade Festival is coordinated by the Chapel Hill Parks & Recreation committee. The following events will be held at Forrest HighSchool:
-- 5K Run starts at 7:30 a.m., 1K Run/walk starts at 8:30 a.m. Reistration is from 6:15-6:45 a.m.
-- Arts & crafts from 8 a.m. til 5:30 p.m.
-- Animal Show - noon
-- Car Show- noon for 2:30 p.m.
-- Holiday Baby/Kids Pageant - 2 p.m. Infants through 5th grade girls
The Chapel Hill Christmas parade starts at 10 a.m. at Chapel Hill Elementary School. The theme of the parade this year is "A Family Christmas". You'll see the Citizen of the year (the Grand Marshall), floats, cars, trucks, animals and Santa.
Like I said, it will be a busy day, but lots of fun.
The Forrest Rockets basketball teams will be in Eagleville Friday for games starting at 6:00 p.m.; Tuesday, Dec. 7, takes them to McMinnville for games with F.C. Boyd, beginning at 6:00 p.m.
The middle school Rockets will participate in the DRVC Tournament in Chapel Hill Monday - Saturday, Dec. 6-11.
The Rocket wrestlers will be at Wilson Central Thursday, Dec. 9 for matches with Wilson Central, Lavergne and Cookeville. Weigh-in time is 5 p.m.
