DRVC Tournament underway in Chapel Hill

The Duck River Valley Conference Middle School Basketball Tournament got underway in Chapel Hill Monday night with four opening round games.

The undefeated MTCS Lady Cougars, the defending conference champions and number one seed started where they left off last year with an impressive 47-0 shutout win over eighth seeded Westwood, while number two seed Liberty eliminated seven seeded Eagleville 40-19.

No. 3 seed Community takes on the sixth seeded FMS Lady Rockets Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m.

No. 4 Cascade and No. 5 Moore County will play their first round game on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.

Colton Cook (14) and the Forrest Rockets took care of Moore County 31-16 Monday night in the first round of the DRVC Tournament in Chapel Hill.

Also on Monday night, the top seeded Forrest Rockets won their opening round game over Moore County 31-16 and No. 2 Liberty defeated (7) Eagleville 24-19.

Westwood (4) and Community (5) square off Wednesday at 5:15 p.m. and MTCS (3) and Cascade (6) play the late game at 7:45 p.m.

The semifinals begin at 4:00 Thursday and the finals will be held Saturday.
