Malcolm Newman, 67, of the Clay Hill Community, died Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, in Columbia.
Mr. Newman was born in Giles County, and was a son of the late Melvin and Martha Hill Newman. He was a farmer and also retired from Walker Die Casting of Lewisburg in 2001 after over 20 years of service. Mr. Newman was a long-time member of Clay Hill United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Renee Newman, who died in 2005.
Mr. Newman is survived by his wife of 47 years, Carolyn Newman of Clay Hill; daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and LeRoy Veatch of Unionville; grandchildren, Joshua Veatch, Megan Veatch and Christin Mayes, all of Unionville; and great-granddaughter, Jayden Veatch. Four sisters and seven brothers also survive.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Dec. 7, at Clay Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Joe Bowers, Pastor Barry Hampton and Mike Courtelis officiating. Burial followed in Hargrove Cemetery in the Clay Hill Community.
