The week of Christmas, the Marshall County Convenience Centers will be open Wednesday and Thursday from 7 to 11 a.m. and 2 to 6 p.m. They will be open Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. They will be closed on Saturday, Dec. 25.

The week of New Year, the Marshall County Convenience Centers will be open every day, including Wednesday, from 7 to 11 a.m. and 2 to 6 p.m. They will be closed on Saturday, Jan. 1.

In His Image Pregnancy Resource Center is in urgent need of wipes and diapers sizes newborn, 3, 4, 5, and 6. The center is open Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon and 5 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 1 to 4 p.m. Feel free to call Shirley Lowe at 359-2304 for special arrangements.

Registration for the 2011 spring semester is underway at Columbia State Community College. Thursday, Jan. 6, is the last day to register without incurring a late charge. Classes begin Thursday, Jan. 13. Registration and advising services are available from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. The Marshall County Senior Citizens Center will be closed on Dec. 24, 27, and 31, and Jan. 1, for the holidays. There will be no covered-dish luncheon or FCE Club meeting in December.

Dec. 23-24

The Marshall County Board of Public Utilities will be closed Thursday, Dec. 23, and Friday, Dec. 24, for the holidays.

The Town of Chapel Hill City Offices will be closed on Friday, Dec. 24, and Monday, Dec. 27, for the Christmas holidays. The offices will re-open at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28.

The office of City Hall in Cornersville will be closed on Wednesday, Dec. 22, Thursday, Dec. 23, and Friday, Dec. 24 for the Christmas holidays. The office will re-open at 8 a.m. Monday Dec. 27.

All Lewisburg City Offices will be closed Thursday, Dec. 23, and Friday, Dec. 24, for the holidays. The garbage route will run as normal. The Thursday's and Friday's recycle routes will be picked up the following Thursday and Friday.

The first ride of the year will be the Polar Bear Run, starting with registration at the Senior Citizens Building in Maury County Park, Columbia, at 9:30 a.m. The cost of the scorecard includes lunch. Mountain Climbers, a a newly formed group for young widows, will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, in the fellowship hall at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, 990 Cornersville Rd., Lewisburg. The group will meet monthly to support and help each other learn how to live again. Whether you have recently lost a spouse or it has been a few years, please come and climb this mountain with us.
