Girl Scout Cookies will be sold in Marshall County soon. The Cookie Program helps Scouts learn decision making, goal setting, money management, people skills, and business ethics. A Driver Safety program for drivers 50 and over, taught by an AARP-certified instructor, will be conducted from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Jan. 19 and 20. The course qualifies you for a three-year reduction in insurance premiums. A fee will be charged; AARP members pay less. For information and/or registration, call Dixie at 359-9661. Registration for the 2011 spring semester is underway at Columbia State Community College. Thursday, Jan. 6, is the last day to register without incurring a late charge. Classes begin Thursday, Jan. 13. Registration and advising services are available from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. The Town of Cornersville will have its regular meeting of the Board of Mayor and Aldermen at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, at City Hall. This meeting is open to the public and all citizens are welcome to attend.


All members of the Tiger Quarterback Club will meet at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, in the Keny Building for nominations of new board members.

The Town of Chapel Hill Community Center, 206 Depot Street, will host an open house from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7.


The Road Committee will meet at 9 a.m. Monday, Jan. 10, at the Marshall County Highway Department.

The Mayor and Council of the City of Lewisburg will hold their monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11, at the City Hall, 131 East Church St.

The Town of Chapel Hill Park and Recreation Board will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11, at the Chapel Hill Police and Fire Department, 119 North Horton Parkway.


The South Central Tennessee Workforce Board Local Workforce Investment Area Ten (LWIA 10) will meet at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, at the Tennessee Career Center, 119 Nashville Highway-Suite 106, Columbia.
