Korley Elizabeth Davis, 11, of the Wheel Community, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011, at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital.
Korley was born Feb. 4, 1999, in Murfreesboro. The daughter of Donald and Becky Davis was a 6th grade student at Liberty School and was an avid sports fan even though she was unable to participate because of her health. This past basketball season she was chosen as Liberty School's only 6th grade homecoming attendant. She was a member of the Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her sisters, Kaitlin and Khloe Davis and Jade Segroves; grandparents, Harvell and Clara Mae Davis of Wheel, and Donnie and Patsy Porter of Ledford Mill; uncles Jimmy Sanders, Jason Porter, Josh Porter and Jared Porter; and great-grandmothers, Lucille Davis, Frances Snell and Margaret Meacham.
Visitation will be held from 4 until 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4, at the First Baptist Church in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, at the First Baptist Church with Jason Porter, Tom Henry, Doug Dezotell and Robert Talley officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery in the Wheel Community.
