Obituary: Myrta Virginia Perry
Myrta Virginia Perry, 82, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, at Marshall Medical Center.
A native of Marshall County, she was the daughter of the late Hazel Harris Tennison and Sam Tennison. She was a retired school teacher, a member of the Marshall County Retired Teachers Association, and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lewisburg where she was a member of the Women of Church, and a past elder.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jay Linville Perry (2003), and a sister, Mildred Rich (Jan. 26, 2011).
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra (Ed) Palmer of Oneonta, Ala. and Myra (Finny) Edwards of Shelbyville; five grandchildren, Jonathan (Greyson) Billingham, Jennifer (Michael) Smallbone, Julie Edwards, Perry (Becky) Bolding, and Faith Palmer. Four great-grandchildren, Emelye Billingham, Joshua Billingham, Adelyn Billingham, and Levi Bolding, also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Perry were conducted Saturday, Feb. 12, from the First Presbyterian Church on the square in Lewisburg, with Jeff Eason and Claude McMillion officiating. Burial followed in Temple Cemetery.
