Marshall County Babe Ruth League sign-up dates are Saturday, Feb. 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 20, from 1 to 3 p.m. For any questions call Connie Mills at 931-637-2454.

The Marshall County Girl Scouts will continue their cookie sales Friday, Feb. 18, through Sunday, Feb. 20, with booth locations in Lewisburg, Chapel Hill and Cornersville. The Marshall County Memorial Library, the South Central Human Resource Agency, and the Internal Revenue Service offer free tax preparation for individuals whose yearly income is under $49,000. The service is provided by appointment only on Tuesdays from noon to 7 p.m. at the Library. Call 931-309-6162 for an appointment.

The Marshall County Retired Teachers Association is offering $1,000 scholarships to students graduating from high school and planning a teaching career. They are also offering $1,000 scholarships to college juniors and seniors who commit to entering the teaching profession. Applications are available at the high school guidance offices; deadline is April 15.

Gently used children's clothing, toys and accessories will be available from the Angel's Closet at Heaven Sent Children Inc., 307 N. Walnut St, Murfreesboro, twice a month.
