Forrest Ward Sr., 89, of Lewisburg, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011, at NHC-Lewisburg.
A native of Giles County, he was the son of the late Mary Pratt Ward and Duncan Ward. He was a retired employee of Faber-Castell Corporation and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lewisburg.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Forrest Ward Jr.; three sisters, Attie Miller, Elizabeth Butler and Betty Jane Fry; and one half-sister, Faye Long.
Survivors include his loving wife, Ruth Crouch Ward of Lewisburg; one son, Garry Lee Ward of Lewisburg; one sister, Melba Stanfill of Louisiana; one half-sister, Barbara Fry; two half-brothers, Jerry Ward and Ray Ward; three grandsons, Garry Ladon Ward, Jonathon Talbie Ward and Steven Forrest Ward; and one granddaughter, Katina Lynn Leonard. Nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews, also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Ward will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, from the chapel of Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home with burial to follow in Sunset Park Cemetery with Dr. Tom Dumser officiating.
