Gordon "Popeye" Fuller, 88, of the Farmington Community of Marshall County, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2011, following an extended illness.
A native of Marshall County, Mr. Fuller was a son of the late Harold and Ocia Barnes Fuller. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II, and was a retired welder for the former Heil-Quaker Corporation. Mr. Fuller was a member of the Farmington United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Nancy Fuller and Mary Jo Manier; two brothers, Tom Fuller and Harold L. "Buster" Fuller; and his son-in-law, Bernie Todd.
Mr. Fuller is survived by his wife, Jeanette Alford Fuller of the Farmington Community; a daughter, Peggy Fuller Todd of Lawrenceville, Ga.; two sons, Eddie (Mary Ann) Fuller and Phil Fuller, both of Lewisburg; two sisters, Christine Cochran of Phil Campbell, Ala. and Ruth Bullock of Chapel Hill; two brothers, Dan Fuller of Triune and Allen Fuller of Murfreesboro; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 3, from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Riggs Cemetery.
