Obituary: Bill Young
Bill Young, 77, of Chapel Hill, died Saturday, March 5, 2011, following an extended illness.
A native of Marshall County, Mr. Young was a son of the late Frank and Ada Young. Bill was a former truck driver for Ryder Trucking Co. and a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Young McDole; two brothers, Percy Young and James "Frog" Young; three sisters, Mary Alice McCaleb, Rene Mae Paul and Lizzie Clay.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Young of Chapel Hill; a daughter, Brenda (Ricky) Stinnett of Chapel Hill; two sisters, Bobbie McElhaney of Shelbyville and Marie Wilmoth of Maynardsville, Tenn.; a granddaughter, Shelby Stinnett; and a stepgrandchild, Jeremy McDole.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, March 8, from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Ledbetter and Stan Butt officiating. Burial followed at Swanson Cemetery.
The pallbearers were "Bucko" Bryant, Ronnie Whitworth, Scott Leonard, Bubba Webbs, Mark Blackwood and T.J. Young.
Honorary pallbearers were Herman Fagan, Bob Blausch, Roger Leonard and Johnny Leonard.
