Obituary: Florence Hargrove

Florence Hargrove, 84, of the Clay Hill Community, died Monday, March 7, 2011.

A native of Bedford County, Mrs. Hargrove was a daughter of the late John and Jennie Perryman Haskins. She was a homemaker and a member of the Clay Hill United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hargrove was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Hargrove, who died in 2010; a daughter, Norma Adcock; a son-in-law, Malcolm Newman; and two grandchildren, Jerry Hargrove and Rene Newman.

Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Newman of the Clay Hill Community; a son, Ray (Linda) Hargrove of the Clay Hill Community; a sister, Ann Thornberry of Shelbyville; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Bowers officiating. Burial will follow at the Hargrove Cemetery.
